Chill-out zone (HLD 219)

Where do you go to find inner peace?

I ask this question because at the moment, we are having a little getaway in the south west of our state. Our rental accommodation, which is brilliantly dog friendly, is about a five minute walk from the beach, which is also dog friendly.

Walking along the beach, with soft sand cushioning your steps, the water softly lapping at your feet, the dog rushing joyfully up and down the beach – this is about as close to a sanctuary as you can get.

Unless you donโ€™t like sand. Or dogs. Or beaches.

Fortunately, I do. Quite a bit, really.

I know other people who find the same solace in bush walking. Others in driving (unless there are obnoxious other drivers on the road, that is!). Others in meditation. Yet others in yoga, or Thai chi.

Some people can relax into music and tune out the problems of the world by immersing themselves into their favourite tunes.

Some people relax by kayaking or canoeing, or sailing.

Where do you go – either physically or mentally – when your blood pressure needs lowering, or your emotions are too friable, or you just need to distance yourself from something?

I hope that it gives you as much peace as my currently twice daily dog walks along the pristine beaches of the south west of WA.
